I was hired as a Narrative Design Supervisor to improve the narrative design process, hire new narrative designers, manage a team of six Narrative Designers and review/edit/rewrite/approve all of their narrative design tasks, design and build new world lores, gameplays, and narratives for upcoming projects.  

Narrative Design Supervisor Duties: 

    • As a Narrative Designer Supervisor, I worked closely with foreign and Chinese colleagues to bring the best game experiences out of China and into the foreign market.

      As a Narrative Designer Supervisor, I work closely with foreign and Chinese colleagues to bring the best game experiences out of China and into the foreign market. - I manage a team of six narrative designers of all levels, backgrounds, and cultures. I assign, review, edit, and approve all narrative tasks assigned to the team. - I collaboratively work across multiple teams (art, design, UA, UI, marketing, etc…) to ensure that the narrative vision for the game is cohesively expressed to the audience. - I coordinate with the various game producers, and creative leads and delegate narrative tasks within the narrative team to ensure the utmost quality. - I create the world lore based on the producer's vision, the creative team’s ideas/concepts, and the agreed-upon overall vision of the game. - Plan the narrative structure of the game, the player's path, and the overall experience by cooperating closely with the development team to see through the integration of narrative designs. Writing the main storyline, opening sequence, game trailer, dialogues, epic and side quests, - I design characters, icons, avatar frames, weapons, creatures, enemies, and various art assets using detailed descriptions and examples, providing visual references for all details. - Provide development teams with a tangible cultural understanding of sensitivity risks and preferences of Western game audiences. - Support development and marketing teams by building reference and educational documents to give special insight into Western and gaming cultures. - I incubate and grow future game concepts by spotting trends, testing competitors' games, and immersing myself in various other mediums, and popular phenomena.
